Thompson, the wrote and stared in the movie, which sees the magical nanny come to the rescue of a mother struggling to run a farm and look after her children while her husband is at war.
Among the cast who attended the screening of the sequel in London's Leicester Square, were comedian Bill Bailey and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who were in all praises for Thompson on her acting skills.
“I'm her biggest fan and I know I'm not alone in thinking she is a brilliant genius. I would like to work with her on everything," she said.
