Rescue Couple Offered 'Pink Slip'

Inspite of saving the life of their bosses, Sharon and David Hegyi were issued the pink slip. The Australian couple worked on Tipperary Station for seven years and were surprised to learn that they were asked to quit their job due to 'down-sizing'.

It was only a week after Sharon, a mother of five and a registered nurse saved her boss's life after he suffered a heart attack. She had rushed to save him, giving him medication, hooking him up to oxygen and calling an ambulance.

"But he deteriorated rapidly and I thought he was going to die. So we put him in a car and David drove towards Adelaide River. The ambulance met us half way. I honestly believe that I saved his life," News.com.au quoted her as telling the Northern Territory News.

Currently the coupleSharon said: "I could understand it if we'd done something wrong. But we didn't. David added:"We're shattered. We've got no jobs, no house and five kids. I know we'll be able to get work easy enough but we just want our old jobs back." are homeless and jobless after they were asked to vacate the company home. AGENCIES
