Hitler's Self Portrait Fetches 10,000 Pounds

The picture, which was painted in 1910 when the artist was 21-years-old, shows a figure sitting on a stone bridge with a cross and the initials AH above it. There are no facial features but the hairstyle is reminiscent of the older Hitler's and experts are sure it is a self-portrait, reports The Daily Express. The watercolour is said to be one of the Nazi leader's earliest work.
Previously, Mullocks, an auctioning house at Ludlow Racecourse in Shropshire, has already auctioned 12 watercolours by Hitler, which fetched a total of 81,700 pounds. Mullocks' historical documents expert Richard Westwood-Brookes said: "We've had a huge amount of interest in this particular lot. The self-portrait was bought by a foreign buyer."
The paintings were discovered by a US soldier in Essen, Germany, in 1945. They were sold to the current vendor and kept out of sight for decades.
