'Best Job In The World' Vacancy Open

The job of a lifetime with a prize salary has been offered by the Queensland Tourism. An attractive salary of 150,000 dollars in just six months has been offered to a candidate whose work description is 'caretaker' of Great Barrier Reef.

The candidate is expected to explore the crannies, both on land and underwater, the tourism is offering the work in the Hamilton Island with duties that do not include litter-picking and sieving leaves and other detritus from the pool. The work is adventurous in nature. According to the insistence of the island bosses, the eventful incumbent will be paid for the exploration of the crannies both on land and under water of 600 islands, and report back through a fortnightly Internet diary with photos and video.

That is just the beginning, the successful candidate will also enjoy a rent-free 5m Australian dollars villa situated 80 metres up the ravine, overlooking the narrow azure channel where humpback whales migrate in September. The accommodation includes two guest bedrooms and a spa pool deck. The distractions include the cacophony of cockatoos outside in the pine trees and the hum of the beer fridge.

He/She will also be provided with a golf buggy and travelling experience by powerboat, jet-ski and yacht. "Everyone knows that the Great Barrier Reef exists but we've found that not many people know about the 600 islands you can visit," the Independent quoted the chief executive of Tourism Queensland, Anthony Hayes, as saying.

"So basically, this person will do as much they possibly can and tell the world about it. There are lots of jobs where you might earn a million dollars but life is very short and it's about living," he added.

The openings are on until February 22 to apply for the 'best job in the world' at islandreefjob.com. A video of 60 seconds or less is to be submitted by each candidate, explaining why they should get the job. Requirement includes excellent communication skills", a "desire for adventure" and "passion for the outdoors".

The final ten short-listed candidates will be selected along with a 'wildcard' entry by onlne public vote. The four-day interview starting on May 3 will be conducted on the islands dotted along the Great Barrier Reef.

The other skills such as sailing, diving, snorkel and performing a series of daunting tasks will also be a part of the selection procedure. AGENCIES
