The original sketches of the must loved cartoon creatures which were a collection from artist EH Shepard whose Pooh illustrations and his work on 'The Wind In The Willows' brought him to limelight. Shepard was a Royal Academy trained artist who died in the 1976.
The loved and preferred iconic illustrations that sold out like hot cakes was "He went on tracking, and Piglet... ran after him," for 115,250 pounds- more than double its pre-sale low estimate. The previous record of the drawing was 110,000 pounds, according to Times Online.
"Bump, bump, bump - going up the stairs" sold for 97,250 pounds which was again almost double its pre-sale low estimate at the auction at Sotheby's in London.
Pooh and his friends did a good drawing of attention !
