Grammy Award For 'Four Tops' For Life Time Achievements

'Four Tops' pop group comprising of Abdul "Duke" Fakir, Roquel Payton, Theo Peoples and Ronnie McNeir is to be extolled with the prestigious Grammy award for lifetime achievement. Late Rat Pack star Dean Martin is also to be honoured along with the foursome.

President of The Recording Academy which the runs the Grammys, Neil Portnow called the recipients "prestigious group of legendary performers, creative architects and technical visionaries". BBC quoted him as saying “Their outstanding accomplishments, legendary passion and artistry have positively affected our culture and will continue to influence and inspire generations to come,"

Gene Autry, the Blind Boys Of Alabama, Hank Jones, Tom Paxton and Brenda Lee are to receive career awards.

With the nominations for the main awards ceremony have already been announced, US rap singer Lil' Wayne leads the pack with eight nods, including ' Tha Carter III' for the album of the year. AGENCIES
