Along with a letter sent today to the association's general secretary, LC Gupta, PETA included two boxes of the highest quality nylon shuttlecocks. "Just as birds should not be killed for sport, badminton need not out because of bird flu", says PETA India Chief Functionary Anuradha Sawhney. "If any good can come from the bird flu Epidemic, it might be that the synthetic shuttlecock will bring this ancient sport into the 21st Century."
