Sita Gusain gets Kalpana Chawla award
Chandigarh, Feb 5 (UNI) Former national women's hockey captain Sita Gusain and former Commonwealth champion rifle shooter Shilpi Singh have been honoured with Kalpana Chawla Excellence Awards 2007 for Women.
Gusain and Shilpi were among 15 eminent personalities who received the awards from late Kalpana Chawla's father Banarsi Lal Chawla at a function organised by Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh Old Boys Association (PECOBA) on the occasion of fourth death anniversary of Chawla on February 1 in New Delhi, a release said here today.
An alumnus of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Chawla had died in a crash of the Space Shuttle Columbia on February 1, 2003.
