It's a proud moment for me: Sanjay Dutt
New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt today said he was proud and happy to have the memoirs of his parents released by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Dutt, who is currently out on bail in a case under the Arms Act wherein he was sentenced to five years imprisonment by a TADA court in Mumbai, was present at the release by the Prime Minister of 'Mr and Mrs Dutt: Memories of our Parents', a compilation of memoirs of Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt by Sanjay and his sisters Priya and Namrata, in a function at the Prime Minister's office here this evening.
Also present along with Sanjay Dutt was his brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav as well as his girlfriend Manyata.
''It's a very special moment for me. What makes it even moreso is the presence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and several Cabinet ministers to lend us support,''Sanjay Dutt said.
A unique feature about the book is that it also has contributions from Sanjay Dutt, along with his sisters Priya and Namrata.
''The book recounts the memories of my sister Namrata, my brother Sanjay and my own,''Priya said in her address at the event.
However, talking to UNI, Sanjay Dutt, while admitting that a lot of hard work went behind the book, said his contribution to the book was limited to relating his side of the story.
''During the making of the book, I sat with Priya and Namrata to give my side of the story. However, my involvement was limited to that. Most work was done by Namrata and Priya who put their heart and soul into the book,''Sanjay Dutt said.
Asked to recount one memorable moment of their life contained in the book, Sanjay said,''one of the most memorable moments is when I witnessed a sea of people coming to my house on the death of my father. That is when I realised how big my father was
