50 Cent takes A Break From Music
50 Cent plans to take a break from music. The 31-year-old hip-hop artist wants to emulate friend Eminem - whose last LP 'Encore' was released in 2004 - and disappear from the rap scene for a while, because it will make him a "bigger celebrity".
50 - real name Curtis Jackson - won't hang up his mic until after the release of his next two albums, 'Curtis' in September and 'Before I Self-Destruct' next February, which will be his last studio album with Interscope Records.
The rapper - whose current five-deal contract includes the release of his greatest hits CD - plans to make music "organically".
50 will preview some of his new tracks at his only UK performance this year at London's Hammersmith Apollo on July 2.
