How To Style The Accent Chair, 9 Tips To Elevate Your Seating Arrangement!
Accent chair as the name suggests is an occasional or decorative seating solution that is mostly added to the standard seating! It forms a visual point of difference within the space and adds to the decor through its attractive colour, shape, and material. Styling accent chairs can upgrade the overall look and feel of a room.
Accent chairs are meant to stand out and add personality to your space. Here are some easy tips on how to style them effectively.

Know the Purpose
Consider the purpose of the accent chair. Is it for seating, reading, or just for aesthetics? For instance, an accent chair for reading or relaxing purposes should ideally be upholstered, complemented with an ottoman or footstool.
Select the Right Chair
Begin by choosing the accent chair that complements the room's colour scheme, interior theme or style and the other furniture in the space. Consider the accent chair's shape, size, and fabric to check that it matches well with the overall design and vibe of the room or area!

Determine the Placement
Where you plan to place the accent chair is crucial. Some common placement options include:
Living Room - Keep the accent chair next to the couch, near the window or in a cosy corner.
Bedroom - Position the accent chair next to the bed or at the foot of the bed. Or, place it in the reading nook.
Dining Room - Use the accent chair at the head of the dining table to add contrast to the side chairs.
Coordinate with Color
Make sure the accent chair's colour matches or contrasts with the room's colour palette. You can use the colour wheel to find the ideal complementary or analogous colours.
Play with Texture and Pattern
Experiment with texture and pattern to create visual interest with the accent chair. For example, if your room is full of solids, add a patterned chair, or vice versa. An accent chair that is defined with vibrant hues, texture, or pattern makes a great accent in the interiors of your home!
Mix and Match
Don't be afraid to mix and match different styles for accent chairs. An eclectic mix of furniture can form an interesting and dynamic look. Make sure that there's some design element of cohesion common colour, and design theme. For example, In eclectic-style interiors, you can place a boho-style rattan accent chair next to the traditional style tufted couch!
Pay Attention to Balance and Proportion
The accent chair you choose must be proportionate to the room and other furniture. An oversized chair can overwhelm a small space, while a small chair can get lost in a spacious or larger room. Always consider the dimensions of the space and the available space wherein you plan to place the chair.
Accessorize the Chair
Don't keep the accent chair bare and boring. Add a throw pillow, and a cosy throw blanket over the same to add the warmth and drama factor of the accent furniture. Place a small side table beside the chair to improve its functionality. These decor accessories can also tie in with the room's decor.
Improve the Aesthetics
Hang artwork or a mirror above the chair to draw attention to the accent chair. If the room allows, consider placing a rug under the chair to define the space and add warmth. Place a floor or table lamp next to the accent chair to create a cosy reading nook or a cosy ambience.
