For urbaners, the best way to have an organic garden is by having an urban garden. Urban gardening, also called container gardening refers to growing plants in containers or pots. Since it is difficult to have big gardens in the urban areas some container gardening plants will help in maintaining greenery in the house. Take a look at these simple urban garden ideas and also the different types of urban gardening plants.

1. Tomatoes, Chillies and Ginger - Growing vegetables is a great way to utilize the small space of your house. They can be easily grown in containers and doesn't need much care. Watering is the only requirement they demand and yield good even in the small area.
2. Golden pothos vine (Epipremnum pinnatum 'aureum'): If you like to have a "Mini Hanging Garden" then nothing can match your ideas like the Vine plant. Golden Pothos grow fast and give good shade with their gigantic yellow green leaves. The houseplant doesn't ask for any care apart from watering. They will easily grow even with a glass of water.
Growing Conditions:
Light: Indirect Sunlight
Water: Soil needs to be moist always
Soil: Loose, well-drained soil
3. Jade Plant (Lucky plant or Money Plant) - This houseplant is called jade for its color, the plant doesn't even need a container but can easily grow in a bottle of water. It can also be a hanging plant and looks green always.

Light: Indirect Sunlight
Water: Soil needs to be moist always
Soil: Loose, well-drained soil
4. Spider plant (Chlorophytum Comosum) - Spider plantsd are magnificent houseplants, they can be grown even baskets. Sometime the plantlets even hang from the plant. It is very easy to grow them, they aren't fussy plants, be it with soil, water or light.
Growing Conditions:
Light: Undemanding
Water: Moist soil
Soil: Well-aerated potting mix.
5. Dracaena fragrans (Cornstalk Dracaena) - These are popular drought tolerant plants, often known as false palms. They are succulent and cacti. The only problem the gardeners need to face is dusting the thick and fleshy leaves. Although they are slow growing, they end up eating spaces so pruning is neccessary.
Light: Although they are very forgiving, the sansevieria prefers bright light with some sun. They can adapt to full sun.
Growing Conditions:
Water: Every alternative day
Temperature: Preferably warmth
Soil: Loose, well-drained sandier soil
