Aspidistra Plant Care Tips -
1. Aspidistras are very slow growing and shade loving plants so it can be cultivated as indoor plants where the sunlight is low.
2. Not only indoor, the beautiful leafy plant can be potted outside the house preferably in a shaded area.
3. Any loamy, well drained soil with plenty of organic matter will favor the growth of these plants.
4. For good growth, use liquid fertilizers for aspidistras just once a month during spring and summer.
5. Aspidistra plants grow in clumps so divide the rhizomatous roots in spring and plant a section of rhizome with a leaf to grow new aspidistras in the garden.
6. Do not water these plants too much as moist soil is more than enough for their growth. The plants can even survive in drought conditions.
7. If the green leaves are found going dull then place in light until they regain the color.
8. Decayed manure, humus or peat can be good fertilizers for these plants to grow well in the outdoors.
