Traditional Indian Bed Sheet Designs!

Kantha work: This is one of the most popular embroidery in Bangladesh and West Bengal. The design is created by stitching on the edges of the cotton bed sheet. Kantha designs are often compared to traditional sashiko design of Japan. The running stitches with motifs of colourful flowers, animals, birds and embroidery are commonly used Kantha bed sheet designs. These running stitches add a wrinkled and wavy effect on the cloth.
Gujarat embroidery: Bed sheet designs with Gujarat embroidery comes in colours like deep red, green, dust, indigo, blue, yellow, pink and purple. Kathi bed sheet design is known for its romantic motifs. You can use kathi embroidery designed bed sheet in the bedroom. In this design, geometrical motifs are fabricated with fabric pieces in different colours. Even Heer stitches are used to add brightness and colour to this bed sheet pattern. With different colours like off-white, yellow, red, black, blue and green, the bed sheet is designed with small mirror pieces in round or square shapes to enhance the beauty of the embroidery.
Phulkari design: Originated in Punjab, the phulkari embroidery design consists of floral embroidery which is fabricated on the cotton, linen or silk material. The embroidery is done with several bright coloured threads which add spark to the hard work. Yellow, red, green, orange, pink and blue are commonly used colours in phulkari design. Horizontal, vertical and diagonal stitches are done for shading the design. Phulkari designed bed sheet can be used in the kids and guests room to make it colourful and bright.
Chikan design: This traditional Indian bed sheet design is commonly used. Fine cotton fabric bed sheets with chikan work describes the clarity of work and is long lasting too. The chikan design bed sheet can be used to add a traditional look to the bedroom.
Block print: Wood block printing is simple and is one of the most widely used design for printing bed sheets. The rich and vibrant colours in block printed bed sheet makes it a must have traditional bed sheet design.
