Rangoli Alternatives For Festive Decorations

Rangoli Designs And Alternatives:
1. Flower Rangoli – Flower petals specially the bright yellow sevantis (chrysanths) and rose can become the filling of the rangoli. Even the outline can be with leaves and soft twigs. All that one needs is a nice paper cutting of a design (that can be taken print out from the internet), fill the petals in the design without leaving an empty space. To add more to the rangoli alternative, you can sprinkle the scent water and beads to make the area fragrant, fresh and colorful.
2. Sparkling Rangoli – Diyas or the deepams can also be rangoli alternatives. Small decorated candles can be arranged within the rangoli outline and when the diyas are lit it looks sparkling and gives a 3D effect to the design. Having scented candles csn make the room aromatic and the design will suit the best in the dark.
3. Sequined Rangoli – Sequins or collected buttons can also be a part of the festive ideas. Sequins are easy to arrange and glitter to the lightings of the room. If there are kids at home, it can be a good activity for them on the festive day. The bigger the sequins are the better the rangoli designs look. You can also give a 3D outline with the fabric glitters and can be peeled off after the occasion.
4. Using Food Stuffs For Rangoli Designs – Grains like rice, ragi, gram can also be arranged like a rangoli pattern. Rock salt can be mixed with food colors and used for rangoli. Even the dry nuts can be arranged in the form of a rangoli. This is a great idea if the kids are at home as even if they eat a grain of the rangoli, it is still safe.
