Paper Lanterns For Christmas

In China, the new year is welcomed with crazy and colorful paper lanterns. This Christmas, chuck the boring light fixtures and replace them with cool paper lanterns. The specialty of lanterns is that they are safe and can be decorated anywhere in any way. Take a look at how to make these crazy paper lanterns for Christmas 2010.
Steps To Make Paper Lanterns For Christmas -
To make a paper lantern, you need:
1.Parchment paper (or wax paper)
2.Ruler
3.2 Scissors
4.Pencil
5.Paint brush and light poster colors
6.Decorative material like glitters
7.Single hole puncher
8.Glue
Procedure:
1.Take a piece of the parchment paper and fold it into thin strips as many times as possible, making creases.
2.Using a ruler cut along the creases evenly with scissors sparing about an inch from top, bottom and edges on the sides of the paper.
3.Unfold the paper and decorate the paper using poster colors and glitters according to your decor theme (Christmas theme).
4.Once the paper is decorated and dried, fold the lantern together and paste the two edges together using the glue stick, so that it looks like a cylinder.
5.As it dries, use the hole puncher to make holes on either side of the top of the lantern to put a ribbon through it and hang it later on.
6.Measure the diameter of the lantern and cut out a piece of cardboard to paste it on to the lantern. Make sure there is enough space between the top of the lantern and cardboard.
7.Place a bulb or a candle on the base of the cardboard to light it.
Make a number of lanterns for this Christmas and add a more festive glow to your home.
