Almost everyone has experienced a nail biting moment in his/her life. This is often a habit that starts in childhood. There are also many teenagers who go through this phase. You can increase the number of nails that you decide not to bite and finally find yourself stopping the habit altogether.
Hands and Mouth Busy
The two basic things that you need for nail biting are your hands and mouth. One of the best ways on how to stop biting nails is to ensure that you are keeping your hands and mouth busy. To distract your hands, you can start by learning a new hobby. For the mouth, you can use a chewing gum or some snacks throughout the day.

Adhesive Bandage
Use a bandage to cover your nails. Ensure that you have them on every day. Also make sure that you are using a fresh bandage every day. If the nails are hurting with the bandages, take them off at night. After a few weeks, you will notice how beautiful your fingers look. This is one of the ways on how to stop biting nails.
Nail Inhibitor
This is a foul tasting chemical which can be applied on your hand. Hence, when you unconsciously bite your fingers next time, you are sure to take them off immediately. Apply the solution 2-3 times a day until you get out of the habit. When you start getting used to the taste of the solution, you can try another product.
