There are some nutritious snacks that can be healthy even if you eating at night. Here are some ideas to help to avoid mid night snacks that are totally unhealthy.
What To Eat As Midnight Snacks?
- Salads: How boring you would say. If you don't eat salads and raw vegetables in broad daylight then why will you eat it at night. The whole point is that you will because you are intolerably hungry. Keep a bowl full of chopped vegetables like carrots, corn, lettuce, beetroot, peppers, broccoli and some onion rings in your fridge. You can toss it in sauce and binge!
- Popcorn: Moving on to something more appetising, popcorn may be pleasure food basically carbohydrates but they have low calories and are relatively simple to digest. You cannot soak the corns in butter of course but otherwise a great meal for eating at night.
- Chilled Milk: Much better option than chilled beer. You might be concerned that milk causes acidity but cold milk will never do that. Chilled milk is in fact a cure for acidity. Make a quick milkshake with lots of ice crush and enjoy your cool drink because it is also sleep inducing other than being healthy
- Club Sandwich: If you have ready made boiled chicken or eggs at home then you can chop some vegetables and make a club sandwich for a quick bite. Make sure you use only brown bread and no mayonnaise or butter. Some sauce should bring in the flavour.
- Whole Cereals: You can eat a bowl full of warm Quaker oats and it will put you back to sleep. You may not like to eat oats otherwise but a piping hot bowl of oats with some veggies tossed in will fill your stomach at night. You can also eat cereals like Muesli which have whole grains and dry fruits with cold milk.
- Dry Fruits: They need no preparation time or effort to cook. Pretty much ready made as you just pick it up and pop then into your mouth. Cashew, walnuts, peanuts, all kinds of nuts will be very good for a midnight snack because they are teaming with anti oxidants. They are also very energy rich although they do not have high sugar content so they don't interfere with your sleep.
These good health tips will help you choose a nutritious midnight snack instead of readily available junk.
