Walking is the easiest exercise and jogging is another simple form of exercise that anyone can try. What about sprinting? Well, sprinting is a high-intensity activity.
Sprinting means running fast for a short duration of time with high intensity. Sprinting can even burn as many as 200 calories in just 2-3 minutes if done in the right way! Jogging is done at a low pace for longer duration and distance.

Now, out of the both which one is better? Jogging or sprinting? Read on to know.

Fat Burning
When it comes to burning fat, sprinting does it better. As sprinting is more intense compared to jogging, it burns fat.
Jogging is aerobic exercise whereas sprinting is anaerobic. Sprinting burns more calories and also uses the fat and stored glycogen as fuel.

Faster Results
High intensity sprinting can offer faster results compared to jogging. If you compare the results of 10 minutes of jogging thrice a week and 10 minutes of sprinting thrice a week for a few months, sprinting seems to offer better results.

Muscle Growth
Sprinting also helps in muscle growth. High intensity workouts help in muscle development.
If you go for a jog daily, you will notice no improvement in your muscle mass but sprinting helps in gaining muscle mass as it helps in growth hormone release.

Stress
Actually, sprinting results in high levels of cortisol release. Cortisol is a stress hormone. But still, sprinting also releases testosterone and human growth hormone which do some good to your body.

Endorphins
Sprinting can help in the release of endorphins or feel good hormones faster. These chemicals make you feel good and help you relax.

Improves Metabolism
Sprinting can enhance metabolism. High intensity workouts help in boosting metabolism, reduce the risk of diabetes and even reduce blood pressure.

Sprinting Vs. Jogging
Though sprinting seems to offer more benefits than jogging, it isn't advisable to sprint more than thrice a week. Also, there should be a day or two gap between every two sprinting sessions.
Also, if you have any respiratory issues, blood pressure or heart conditions, it isn't advisable to sprint without consulting a doctor. Apart form all these things, if you have any bone or joint related disorders it is better not to sprint!
