Steroids

Fluid Retention
This condition is also known as oedema. In this condition, the body swells up at different parts and adds extra weight due to fluid retention. This weight gain is caused by fluid accumulation in the body.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
In this condition, women tend to put on weight around their waist. Some of the symptoms of PCOS are irregular periods, excessive hair growth and weight gain. This excess weight gain can be controlled by diet and exercise.

Ageing
This is something that no one can stop. Studies reveal that there is a muscle loss that takes place as the person ages. This is due to the physical activity, which gradually reduces. Muscles are considered to be calorie burners and with a loss in muscle mass, there are more chances of a person to put on more weight.

People tend to react in different ways when they are depressed or are in anxiety. But a common sign in all these stressful condition is that the person tends to ignore on his/her junk intake and eats more than what the body requires. This is one of the reasons why people put on weight.
