6 Winter Sports To Keep You Fit
It is human tendency to lose weight in the summer and pout on weight in the winter. The logic behind this is very simple. In the summers we sweat and lose lots of water weight like that. We are also able to take walks and do outdoor activities that contribute to our daily burning of calories. But in the winters, we are cooped up at home. All we do is gorge of fattening foods to keep ourselves warm.
Not everyone is cut-out for doing workouts in the gym. Some of us are outdoor people who need to go out and shed some sweat. Just because it is chilling outside you need not resign yourself to months of exercising. Chose a sport as exercise and you will feel much fitter. Sports is not only exercise for your body but also refreshes your mind. Moreover, it produces heat in your body and keeps you warm in the winter.
So if you do not want to put on weight in the winter, you need to opt for some exercise like sports. There are a set of winter games that can help you be in shape during the cold months. Some of these winter sports are played on ice. Some of them also come under the category of adventure sports. So choose a sport that suits your temperament perfectly.
Here are some of the winter sports that you can pick from.

Ice Skating
This obviously is the first winter sport that anyone would think of. Apart from being your hobby, it will give your legs some much needed exercise.

Skiing
Don't like the controlled atmosphere of the ice-skating ring? Try skiing out in the open. You get some fresh air and burn more calories too.

Snow Boarding
This sport is a great exercise for your back and lower portions of the body. It teaches you the virtue of balance and most importantly, snow boarding is not the same as skiing.

Sledging
Your sledge does not have to be pulled by reindeers; leave those antics for Santa. Sledging can be done using animals or without them too.

Snowmobiling
Snowmobiling is a sophisticated form of sledging. Instead of a sledge, you use modern automated machines.

Ice-Hockey Or Brandy
This team sport is played in many clubs in winter. It uses all your motor skills; you have to balance yourself on the skates, move quickly and also get the ball into the goal post. So it is all round exercise.
