Sanchita Ajjampur's Surreal Show At The Amazon India Fashion Week 2016
Sanchita Ajjampur was born in Mumbai but moved to Europe at the age of three and has lived most of her life in Europe. She was first educated in Vienna and the United Kingdom, received her degree in arts from the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne and her Fashion and Technology Master's degree from Domus Academy in Milan. She has worked with several designers before starting her own label sanchita in 2005at the Leela Galleria in Bangalore.
Her work is known to be a fusion of Indian and international tastes. Her idea is that of a global traveller who is on a quest to collect the most rare and natural beauty. Her clothes are easy to wear, practical and fluid - the ideal modern nomad. We love Sanchita because she prefers creating pieces of timeless expression rather than a fleeting trend.
She was at the Amazon India Fashion Week tonight and her collection was just what we discussed above, luxurious fabric and ornamentation. The following are some of the best looks of the fantastic night.

Hats ruled the ramp tonight with wide brims that had an oriental feel to them. This look was ultra feminine and exaggerated the silhouette to a great extent.

Surface embellishments were another feature we would like to point out in Sanchita's show. These skillfully made accents gave the dresses a more regal feel. Hand painted tribal art on the dresses were also displayed and we thought that that was an interesting idea.

Geometric prints were the star of the show tonight. This top is very chic and classy, apt for an Indian and international market.

Colour blocked trends are here to stay and Sanchita Ajjampur knows it well. She used bright tops like this one to make her point. We love this look.
