Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Summer Resort: INIFD Presents Gen Next
The curtain raiser at the Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Summer Resort got us fashion addicts geared up for more to come. Manish Malhotra who opened the season with an amalgamation of rich fabrics, delicate hand-embroidery with flawless finesse made our jaws drop at his sartorial perfection.
Day 1 got all the more exciting when we got to see an array of colours and ensembles from five talented fashion designers from the INIFD Gen Next. The collection you see is fun, fresh and uber cool.
The ramp is also filled with colour-blocking, abstract appliqué and a fresh palette which complements the structured pieces constructed in neoprene. The sleek shapes on each of the models you see give the range a luxe, uptown vibe.
Some of the collections are also Indian traditional versus the modern era and the collaboration is simply fantastic. The five designers have put their best food forward into making this day 1 at the Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Summer Resort a grand success.
We can't wait to see more of these graphic collections by the designers: Naveen, Sohaya, Chirag Nainani, Aqdus and Agrima:

A Ray Of Colours
The milky white formal attire seen on the model looks appealing. We fell in love with the colourful array of colours seen on the shirt.

Tube Fantastic
The white tube floor length satin dress seems out of this world. What we love the most is the transparent monochrome over-coat.

The One Shoulder Gown
The black number was highlighted with a floral shoulder brooch, which was necessary to create a spark on the ramp.

Solid Jumpsuits
The solid navy coloured jumpsuit was a jumpstart for the day. The splash of colours seen on one shoulder takes our breath away.

The Big Black Bow
The sleeveless navy blue dress is accompanied with a translucent coat and a big black bow.

Love For Sheer
The white dress which was complemented with a sheer underskirt looked chic on the ramp.

Printed Suits
The cream based suit on the model is finished with the same coloured turban and a sheer net covering the model's face.

Say Hello To Capes
The entire collection was soothing to the eyes, and the tan coloured cape just added to it's beauty.

Love For White
Designer Aqdus kept his collection low key by playing with sobre colours.

Headgears Are Back!
The headgear which wrapped up this white ensemble took our breath away.

It's Red Chequered
The red and white chequered attire stole the ramp on day 1 at LFW 2016 summer resort. We also love the over-sized grey coat.

Stripes Belted With White
The red and white striped dress is super summer cool. The white rope like belt just enhances the colours.

Pick Your Alphabet
The grey coat is covered with alphabets in crimson red. The red piping and the touch of white on the top simply adds to the beauty.

So Chic
This attire on the model is the icing on the cake in designer Naveen's collection.

Say Hello To Dead Red
The cotton red saree is appealing and very sexy. It is the attire dedicated to every modern Indian woman.

Spade Shoulders
While we got to see a lot of colour in the other collections, this designer gave us an insight of just one shade.

A Striped Season
The striped loose jumpsuit seems to be a comfy fit to welcome the hot season.

Shades Of Grey & Green
Designer Sohaya plays around with a lot of simple shades for the summer collection. The underlying olive green shade brings out the look in this ensemble.

White Rules The Ramp
Since white is a cooler and much preferred colour for the summer, the designers at Gen Next introduced different ways to flaunt the hue.

The Proud Designer
