India Couture Week 2024: Timeless Reds To Metallic Bustiers, Key Fashion Trends That You Must Bookmark!
Fourteen shows over eight days and an abundance of fashion inspiration. India Couture Week 2024, a fashion extravaganza, finished on July 31 in New Delhi with a grand finale by designer pair Falguni and Shane Peacock!

We have highlighted new fashion trends at ICW 2024, that focused mostly on Indian wedding apparel.

Modern Bridal Corsets
Those who adore Bridgerton, pay attention! Now is the moment to wear those gorgeous corsets from your favourite Netflix series as bridal blouses instead of just admiring them. Ace designer Tarun Tahiliani's latest show featured models dressed in sophisticated Indian outfits and his distinctive corset blouses.
Talented designer Jayanti Reddy's traditional couture collection had a model wearing a corset blouse along with a modern saree and cropped cloak, showcasing the fashion trend for corsets.

Bridal Cape And Co-Ord Sets
Cape and co-ord combinations were given a wedding makeover at India Couture Week in 2024. Modern Indian brides can now choose from practical designs by designers like Tarun Tahiliani, Gaurav Gupta, and Jayanti Reddy that combine traditional and modern elements.
Although these silhouettes have been used in bridal trousseaux, primarily for smaller events like Haldi and mehendi, their enhanced variants will probably be more widely seen in the future fashion sphere!

Dramatic Details
Will Indian fashion be ready to flaunt the Met Gala looks? Tart-deco couture is hinted to be a major emerging trend by the extremely high drama quotient at ICW 2024. Imagine cocooned silhouette, flowing sleeves, intricate headwear, pearl-studded veils, sculpted detailing, and edgy silhouettes. The majority of the designer exhibits at the event reflected this maximalist idea!

Grooms In Drapes And Jewellery
Draping, whether it be in the form of a saree or dupatta, has always played a significant role in Indian brides' attire, and it is soon to have an impact on grooms' wear as well. Models in Tarun Tahiliani's collection wore sherwanis accessorized with twin dupattas. Vibrant silk stoles gained prominence in grooms' wear thanks to Jayanti Reddy, who also styled bandhgala kurtas with saree-inspired drapes in some styles.
Gone are the days when grooms had to take on a supporting role at weddings, letting the bride take the lead. This season, the maximalist groom style gained traction because of JJ Valaya's showcase, which featured a brooch party and striking jewellery pieces worn by Kunal Rawal and Falguni Shane Peacock.

Cocktail-Ready Ensembles
Here's some exciting news for soon-to-be brides: there are other ways to look stunning on your sangeet night besides sarees and gowns covered in sequins and feathers. Designers with a hint of sass, such as Rimzim Dadu, reinvented cocktail glam for this season. To make an impression on Instagram, pair your look with an asymmetrical skirt or a blazer that is a little odd.

Sculptural Bustiers
This season's India Couture Week saw a big moment for metallic bustiers, which were previously seen on Kim Kardashian, Zendaya, and Sonam Kapoor. This marked the beginning of their introduction into the Indian fashion scene. A sculpted version with mythical animals was showcased by haute couture designer Gaurav Gupta. Roseroom's Isha Jajodia displayed metal plates as stylish blouses to wear with traditional lehengas and skirts.

Timeless Red Lehengas
India Couture Week 2024 served as an example of how fashion can be both classic and progressive. While fresh and unusual styles emerged during the season, the unparalleled beauty of a classic red bridal lehenga or saree was also reinforced on the runway!
