Spicy Chana Masala Recipe!

Chana masala, North Indian recipe:
Ingredients
1 cup chana soaked overnight
2 small onions, grated
2 tomatoes, grated
ginger garlic paste
finely chopped green chillies
cinnamon
2 cloves
bay leaves
cumin seeds
red chilli powder
turmeric powder
garam masala
coriander powder
salt
tamarind
tea leaves
oil
butter and coriander leaves for garnishing.
Directions to make Chana masala, the spicy North Indian recipe:
1. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chana, water and little salt. In a muslin cloth, wrap the tea leaves and pour in the water. You can also use a tea bag. Tea leaves helps get the dark brown colour. Boil the chana up to 3-4 whistles.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Fry for few seconds and then add onion. Fry till it becomes translucent and then add ginger garlic paste and green chillies.
3. Add salt, turmeric powder, cloves, cinnamon and fry. Now add tomatoes.
4. Now, put garam masala, red chilli powder and little tea water from the pressure cooker.
5. Put the chana in the mix and bring it to boil.
6. In a small bowl, add little water, sugar and soak little amount of tamarind.
7. After the water thickens, add the tamarind solution and mix well.
8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and butter.
Chana masala, the spicy north Indian recipe is ready. Serve it hot with chapati or bhatura and team with chopped onions and pickle.
