Sweet Cocoa Burfi Recipe
Burfi is a very popular Indian sweet dish. It is found in almost ever y part of the country. If you take a closer look at the sweet shops, you will find different varieties of burfi. Burfi is made with milk or khoya. However, other flavours like mango, kesar, badam, elaichi, kaju and chocolate burfi are also available in the market.

If you love burfi and want to add something different for your sweet tooth, you can try the cocoa burfi recipe.
Cocoa Burfi Recipe:

Serves: 10-15 burfis
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- Maida- 1 cup
- Cocoa powder- ½ cup
- Milk - as required
- Almonds- 5-6 (sliced)
- Sugar- 1 ½ cup
- Ghee- ½ cup
Procedure
1. Heat a deep bottomed pan. Pour ghee and heat on a low flame till it starts steaming.
2. Add the maida and cook on a low flame till the flour turns golden brown and leaves a sweet aroma.
3. Put the maida on a plate and let it cool.
4. Meanwhile, add milk in the same pan and boil on a medium flame.
5. Add sugar and stir till it dissolves.
6. Once the milk looks thickened, add the maida, cocoa powder and stir well to avoid formation of lumps.
7. Cook on a medium flame for 4-5 minutes. Stir continuously to prevent it from sticking on the surface.
8. On a greased plate, spread this cocoa burfi and cut them in the shape of a burfi.
9. Let it cool. Take out the pieces carefully once it cools down.
Cocoa burfi recipe is very simple! Garnish this Indian sweet dish with sliced almonds and serve.
