Crispy Sweet Mathri Recipe
Sweets are an inseparable part of the Indian cuisine. Be it any festival or get together, sweets have to be on the menu. But in our busy lives we don't really have the time to cook lengthy and complicated stuffs. So, we settle for the easy option which is the ready made sweets from the shop. But beware! Ready made sweets may contain a lot of harmful things which you may not want to consume.
To put an end to the problem today we have a simple yet delicious sweet recipe for you to try. The mathris are a popular snack. The sweet version of mathri is even more delectable. The best part of this sweet recipe is that you can make it in one go and store it for a long time. So, you save on the labour and get to enjoy your sweet dish everyday.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- Atta (whole wheat flour)- 1 ½ cup
- Rava (semolina)- ¼ cup
- Ghee- ¼ cup
- Sugar- ¼ cup
- Til (sesame seeds)- 2tbsp
- Oil/Ghee- for deep frying
- Water- ¼ cup
Procedure
1. Heat the water in a pan and the sugar to it. Wait for the sugar to melt.
2. Once the sugar melts, take the pan off the heat. Allow it to cool down.
3. Mix the atta, rava, ghee and sesame seeds together in a bowl.
4. Pour the warm sugar water into this mixture and knead a tight dough out of it.
5. Cover the dough with a lid and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
6. After 15 minutes, open the lid and smooth the dough with your palms.
7. Heat oil or ghee for deep frying on medium heat.
8. Make small balls out of the dough and flatten them between your palms.
9. Press the dough lightly between your palms to make it thinner.
10. Now fry the mathris in the oil on low flame.
11. Allow the mathris to turn golden brown in colour.
12. Once done, transfer the mathris to a plate and serve.
Crispy sweet mathris are ready to be served. You may store this delightful sweet snack in bottles for around 2 months.
