Crisp And Tasty Gobi Pakora Recipe
Pakoras are basically fried Indian snacks. These snacks can be made with different kinds of ingredients. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian ingredients are used for making pakoras. It is one of the most popular evening snack that is enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea.
Pakoras are usually batter fried. Besan (gram flour), corn flour and all-purpose flour are most commonly used in these recipes. Then the pakoras are deep fried in steaming hot oil. Green chillies, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, etc. are common spices that are often used to season the pakoras.

As mentioned earlier, various ingredients can be used to prepare tasty pakoras. As it is the season of cauliflower or gobi, here is the gobi pakora recipe. It is tasty, crisp and easy to prepare as well. Take a look.
Gobi Pakora or Cauliflower Fritters Recipe:

Serves: 5
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- Gobi florets- 1 cup (medium sized)
- Besan- 1 cup
- Green chillies- 2 (finely chopped)
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Ajwain- 1tsp
- Garam masala- 1tsp
- Baking soda- a pinch
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 1 cup (for frying)
- Water- 1 cup
Procedure
- Make a semi-thick batter of besan using water. Whisk properly so as to avoid the formation of lumps.
- Add ajwain, red chilli powder, salt, baking soda, green chillies and garam masala.
- Mix well and keep aside.
- Now heat oil in a frying pan. When the oil is piping hot, coat the cauliflower florets with the batter.
- Gently put it into the pan. Deep fry till the gobi pakora becomes golden in colour and looks crisp.
- Repeat with the remaining florets.
Gobi pakoras or cauliflower fritters are ready to eat. Serve them hot with coriander chutney or with tomato sauce.
