Crispy Banana Bajji For Ugadi
Ugadi is just a few days away and it is time that you gear up with some mouthwatering recipes. Ugadi is the time for celebration and you simply cannot imagine a celebration without good food.
Today we have a simple yet delicious recipe for you to try on this Ugadi. You must have heard of the special banana bajji of South India. It is also known as the kela bajji or Aritakaya bajji. This special snack is prepared using unripe bananas and it tastes yummy.

So, try out this crispy banana bajji recipe on this Ugadi and enjoy a blessed time with friends and family.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- Unripe banana- 1 (peeled and cut into medium sized slices)
- Besan- 1 cup
- Rice flour- 2tbsp
- Soda bi-carb- a pinch
- Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
- Ajwain- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
- Oil- for deep frying
- Water- ½ cup
Procedure
1. Mix the besan, rice flour, soda, ajwain, red chilli powder, salt, coriander leaves together in a bowl with water.
2. Make a smooth batter and dip the banana slices into it.
3. Heat oil for deep frying in a pan.
4. Fry the banana slices in oil on medium flame for about 4-5 minutes.
5. When the banana slices turn golden brown from all the sides, transfer them to a serving plate.
6. Follow the same procedure to make more banana bajjis.
Banana bajji is ready to be served. Enjoy these crispy delights with coriander chutney.
