Scotch Eggs For A Hearty Breakfast
An egg breakfast is the easiest thing to prepare in the mornings. Most of the time we either porch or fry the eggs directly. But if you are bored of the same old egg breakfast recipes then we have something new and interesting for you. Have you ever tried Scotch eggs. As the name suggests Scotch eggs hail from Scotland.
Scotch eggs are different but they are fairly easy breakfast recipes to try. Scotch eggs basically comprise of boiled eggs fried in a batter of sausages and breadcrumbs. So you get an egg breakfast recipe with a difference. But Scotch eggs are still easy to make and you can try on busy week days too.

Serves: 2
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Eggs- 5
- Sausages- 4
- All purpose flour- 1/2 cup
- Break crumbs- 1 cup
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Freshly ground pepper- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
Procedure
- Boil 4 eggs in a covered pot for 15 minutes on medium flame. Drain away the water and add cold water to cool off the hot eggs.
- Peel the boiled eggs and cut them into halves.
- Now press the sausages into the shape of a flat disk. Repeat this for all the pieces.
- Place the boiled eggs on the flattened sausages and cup your palms to stick them together.
- Beat the remaining egg and dip the sausage-eggs in the beaten egg.
- Roll them in bread crumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan. When it is really hot, add the eggs with sausage coating.
- Fry on low flame till the coating turns brown.
Have Scotch eggs with bread and mashed potatoes for a hearty breakfast.
