Cool fabrics For Summer

Summer is here again and apart from the 'bright sunny day' you also have the perspiration, body odour and clothes staining. The best way to be comfortable in the scorching heat is to wear on a the right fabric. Summers is also a season when your clothes need much more care. Lets look at some summer fabrics and how to care for them -

1.Cotton – It's a well known fact that the best summer fabric is cotton. Cotton fabrics for clothes is derived from the the cotton plant seed and is best fabrics for summer, as when cotton threads are woven, it has hollow in between which allows air to pass and thus, allowing your body pores to breath in the heat. It absorbs the sweat and dries up quickly, it is also one of the strongest fabrics. To take care of cotton fabrics for summers -

A.Avoid exposing cotton clothes too much in sun as it might weaken the knitting and also the colour.

B.Cotton has a tendency to shrink, thus, it is best to buy pre-shrunk cotton clothes.

C.Avoid hot water wash, it weaken the fabrics and also makes it loose.

2.Linen – Linen is a natural fabrics derived from the Flax plant ans is one of the first fabrics to be used by mankind. It the most absorbent and durable fiber. It is perfect as it is smooth on the skin and thus, helps avoid summer skin problems, which usually erupt due to skin contact with fabrics. The way to take care is of this cotton fabric is -

A.Linen clothes should never be rinsed hard. This weakens the fiber and might also lead to tearing.

B.Linen has a tendency for loosing colour, thus, it is best to use a colour fast agent on the first wash.

C.If washing in washing machine, it should be washed in a gentle mode.

D.Never use brush on linen clothes. To remove stain, just soak it overnight and gently rub. The stain will be gone.

3.Rayon – The rayon fabrics for summer is also derived from the cotton pulp, but also has some amount of synthetic material mixed in it. Rayon has a shiny effect and is believed to be a good conductor of heat. It is also an absorbent summer fabrics. The ways to care are-

A. Wash rayon is warm water.

B. Avoid squeezing this fabrics

C. It is best to dry clean Rayon clothes for better life.
