5 Garlic Mask Recipes & Safe Way To Use Them!
Safe way to use garlic face masks!
Sample this - A pus-filled pimple pops on your face, out of nowhere, and (you read it somewhere, maybe?) you rub raw garlic onto it. Guess what? It reduced the swelling to some extent, but also burnt your skin, leaving an angry scar behind!

One thing you need to know about garlic is that it is highly concentrated on sulphur, which can burn and dry your skin, and no two skin types react the same way to it!
You need to balance out the properties, with other mild ingredients too that can keep garlic from burning, drying or peeling your skin, which is why, we've curated these safe garlic face mask recipes.
Fact check - Garlic contains a compound called allicin, which has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which in turn cleanses the pores and kills the acne-causing bacteria.
However, the same allicin, when highly concentrated, can cause the skin to blister and peel. Precisely why, you need to dilute the content with other soothing components like oatmeal to negate the side effects, while deriving the most of it!
Here are some tips on how to use garlic safely on your skin. Take a look.
Blackhead Busting Mask

- Take 1 garlic clove, 1 tablespoon of oatmeal powder, 3 drops of tea tree oil, and 1 teaspoon of honey.
- In a bowl, crush garlic and other ingredients.
- Mix until it forms into a smooth paste.
- Apply a thin coat on your nose.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes, later scrub and rinse.

- Take 1 tablespoon of freshly extracted tomato juice, add 1 crushed garlic and a few drops of almond oil.
- Using a fork, mix it all together, until it blends into a smooth paste.
- Cleanse your face and apply the mask.
- Let it sit for 20 minutes, wash it off with lukewarm water and follow it up by washing your face with cold water to close the pores.
Acne-Clearing Mask

- Take 2 garlic cloves, peel off the skin and pound into a smooth paste.
- Add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the crushed garlic and mix it well.
- Rinse your face and apply the garlic mask to clear acne on the affected area.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse and pat dry.
- Follow it up by applying a light soothing face cream.
Skin-Tightening Mask

- Take 2 crushed garlic cloves in a bowl, 1 egg white, 5 drops of coconut oil and a tablespoon of organic honey.
- Using a fork, mix it all together, until you get a smooth paste.
- Apply a thin coat of the mask.
- Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse it clean.
Pimple-Clearing Mask

- Crush 3 garlic pods into a fine paste and add 1 tablespoon of yogurt to it and 1 teaspoon of honey.

Note: To avoid any allergic reaction, patch test the mask first on a small area of your skin.
