Cannes Film Festival 2013 has commenced. Celebrities from around the world have started walking down the red carpet. Day 1 of Cannes 2013 clearly shows that the glitzy event is going to be one of the fashionable and star studded festival of the year. Floor length gowns to plunging necklines, the first day at Cannes red carpet was just amazing!

Celebrities walked the red carpet in beautifully designed gowns and dresses. Men too looked handsome in suits and tuxedos. The female celebrities decided to show different shades at the Cannes 2013 red carpet. At Day 1, celebrities wore gowns and sarees. Indian celebs namely Sonam Kapoor and Vidya Balan went traditional at the Cannes red carpet. Frieda Pinto on the other side wore a pink coloured flowing Gucci gown.

Nicole Kidman, the new jury member of Cannes Film Festival wore a knee length dress to attend the rainy day of Cannes 2013. While Dior, Burberry, Roberto Cavalli and Elle Saab ruled red carpet fashion on the first day, here are some of the best looks from the Cannes.

Nicole looked gorgeous in a floral embroidered dress. Pink lips and light eye makeup looked perfect. However, her sleek Mohican hairstyle looked fresh and stylish at the red carpet.

Sonam Kapoor

Bollywood's fashionista decided to go desi at the Cannes red carpet. Her winged eye makeup, blood red lips and a big nose ring looked completely ethnic.

Isla Fishcer

To flaunt her flawless complexion, Isla decided to keep it simple with a bright red gown. Glossy pinkish red lips and basic eye makeup made this look perfect!

Mallika Sherawat

To carry her golden beaded gown, Mallika decided to keep her look bright and shiny. Her red lips and side swept hair bun looked nice. However, she seems to have applied too much compact which makes her look like a vampire.

Lana Del Rey

The vintage look of Lana is just wow! Lana's wavy curled hairstyle, nude brown matte lips and smokey eyes completed the vintage look.

The bouncy blow dry brown hair and neutral makeup makes the sexy Cindy look perfect in the fitted white gown.

To hide her teeth, Georgia decided to try dark lipstick that matches well with her red gown. Her dark red lips, side swept blond wavy curls and red nails were blending well with the gown.

Glossy tinted lips, smokey eyes and side braided bun made Frieda look beautiful.

Vidya Balan

The talented actress kept it simple as expected. Nude makeup, shaped eyebrows and nude lips with centre-parted hair bun made Vidya look traditional.However, it was too light for a red carpet of such a glitzy event!
