Struggling With Oily Skin This Summer? Simple Tips to Keep Shine Under Control
What To Do When You Have Dry Hair But An Oily Scalp
We either have dry hair or oily hair. But what happens when the scalp is oily but the hair remains dry and dull? This happens because the natural oils from your scalp are not reaching the entire length of your hair.
This is usually a problem with long hair. In fact, people with shorter hair would never face this problem. So, long hair becomes even more difficult to maintain when this issue arises.
The solution to get rid of an oily scalp is usually by washing it. But since the hair is already dry, we would be stripping it of its natural oils even further by washing it too much. Dealing with this kind of hair can be confusing indeed.

On one hand, the roots of your hair would feel greasy and full of gunk. On the other hand, the ends will look dry and dead. But luckily, there are ways to make your hair listen to you and behave.
Here are a few easy and general tips on how to deal with this kind of hair, without having to wash it too much.
- Use a wide-toothed comb and don't comb too close to the scalp, as the comb touching the scalp too much would only encourage more oil production.

- You might not want to wash your hair that is already dry, but to get rid of the oil on the scalp, dust a little baby powder on to the scalp. This will absorb the excess oil on the scalp without drying out the ends at all.
- Oil your hair at least once every week, focusing only on the length of your hair and ensure that none of the oil reaches your scalp. This would only make the situation worse.

- When you wash your hair with shampoo, don't use too much shampoo near the ends of your hair. Ideally, only the scalp should be massaged with shampoo while washing.
- Conditioner should only be used on the ends of your hair, and after washing, a leave-in conditioner or serum should be applied to the ends.
These tips would definitely help those with an oily scalp and dry hair, as the tips are tried and tested. I hope this post helps you! Let us know what you think in the comments section.
