1.Sit on the floor with the legs stretched in front
2.Flex the left leg at the knee and hold the left foot with the hands and place it at the root of the right thigh close to the pelvis for the left heel to be close to the navel. The left leg would now assume a half lotus position.
3.Bend the right leg at the knee and have the right foot brought back to rest the right heel near the right hip. The inner side of the right calf should touch the outer side of the right thigh.
4.Rest both the knees on the floor
5.Breathe out and have the left arm turned from the shoulder and brought behind the back. Bend the left elbow from behind the back and bring the left hand near the right hip and clasp the left foot.
6.Straighten the right arm and have it placed at the outside of the left thigh close to the left knee and insert the hand underneath the left knee with palms touching the floor and fingers pointing to the right.
7.Hold firmly the left foot and twist the trunk as much as you can to the left.
8.Turn the neck to gaze over at the shoulder in either direction.
