Chakrasana
The term 'Chakra' would mean a 'wheel'. Since this asana resembles a wheel it is called ' Chakrasana' or the 'Wheel Pose'.
1.Lie down flat on the back on the floor.
2.Breathe out and raise both the legs and bring them over the head and place the toes on the floor as in Halasana Take two or three breaths
3. Bring the hands over the head and bend the elbows, placing the palms on the floor by the shoulders with fingers pointing away from the feet.
4.Exhale, press the palms on the floor to raise the back of the neck to roll over on the head (resting the crown of the head on the floor)
5.Stretch out the arms straight and go into Adho Mukha Svanasana.
6.Bend the elbows and lower the trunk. Roll over on the back and relax.
Effects
As it is the wheel pose, the wheeling movement facilitates good blood circulation around the spinal column and rejuvenates it. It tones the abdominal organs and the spine and is ideal for people suffering from gastric trouble. It is also affective for livers that do not function properly.
