When Is Shab E Barat 2024? Date, Timing, Rituals And Significance In Islam
Shab-e-Barat, also known as the Night of Forgiveness or the Night of Fortune, holds significant spiritual and religious importance in Islam. Observed on the night between the 14th and 15th of Sha'ban, the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, Shab-e-Barat is a time for reflection, prayer, and seeking forgiveness from Allah. On this night, people belonging to the Muslim community offer namaz with complete dedication and also read their holy book Quran.
Along with this, they pray for the peace of their family and seek forgiveness from Allah for any wrongdoing done by them. After the seventh month of the Islamic calendar 'Rajab' comes the eighth month of 'Shaban'. According to the Islamic calendar, the month of Shaban starts on Pir i.e. Monday. When Is Shab-e-Baraat In 2024? Date And Time
According to the Islamic calendar, the festival of Shab-e-Barat is celebrated on the 14th and 15th of the month of Shaban. Its final date is decided according to the sighting of the moon. This year Shab-e-Barat will be celebrated on Sunday, 25th February.

According to religious beliefs, this night is very special for the Muslim community. On this day, along with offering namaz, they recite the Quran, worship Allah, and pray for well-being.
Why Is Shab-e-Barat Called Night Of Forgiveness?
The 5 most important nights have been mentioned in the religion of Islam. The first night is the night of Jumma, the second is the night of Eid ul Fitr, the third is the night of Eid ul Azha, the fourth is the night of Rajab and the fifth most important night is Shab-e-Barat.
The auspicious night of Shab-e-Baraat is also called the night of Bakshish or the night of Magfirat. In the Muslim community, people stay awake on this night with true devotion and pray to Allah for the mistakes they have unknowingly committed in their previous and present birth. It is believed that by praying on this day all sins are forgiven. People offer namaz and pray at any appropriate place, religious place, or home.
