Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa describes the greatness of a humble scholar called Padmalochan.

Pamalochan who had great respect for Sri Ramakrishna, on his visit to Kolkata, lived in a garden house near Kamarhati. The master met this great scholar of knowledge who shed tears profusely listening to devotional songs though intellectually wise.

Padmalochan shared an interesting incident with the master. Once he was approached by some people who claimed to know who was greater between the two deities, Shiva and Brahma. The man of wisdom answered that he nor his ancestors dating back to the fourteenth century had ever seen Shiva or Brahma!

To the one who has transcended form, forms do not come into the ambit of existence.
