Baba Cures A Boy's Cripple

Sri Sathya Saibaba makes a crippled boy walk.
A retired Railway officer, Abburi Balakrishna Rao, from Indian Railways narrates a miracle of Sathya Saibaba that he happened to witness for the first time.
In July 1974, Abburi Balakrishna Rao who was a devotee of Sri Sathya Saibaba along with his wife, happened to visit Puttaparthi for Sai Darshan on Gurupoornima. The gathering waited in front of Prashanti Nilayam anticipating the arrival of their Master. Baba showed up from the top floor of Prashanthi Nilayam. As he reached the awaiting crowd, he first started walking towards the seated ladies. In the front row there was an Assamese lady sitting with her crippled son who was about 9 to 10 years of age.
Baba went past the lady and suddenly made a U turn. He headed towards the front row where the boy and his mother was seated. He enquired about the boy's condition to the lady. The lady explained about her son's handicap. Baba then gently took hold of the boy's arms and made him stand erect. He gently patted him and applied vibuthi (sacred ash) on his forehead. He then bid him to walk.
To the amazement and delight of all those present, the boy started walking to and fro within that place. Tears of joy trickled down the face of the mother.
The lady later explained to a gathered few in ecstasy, including Abburi Balakrishna Rao about her repeated attempts of failure in getting her son cured by treating him in different hospitals. She had even tried to treat him in Mumbai which also failed. She had lost all hopes when she finally heard of Baba and decided to turn to him as her last and only resort. She undertook an arduous journey to Puttaparthi all the way from Assam with her handicapped son hoping that he would be cured by the grace of Baba. She waited for ten days in Puttaparthi and her patience bore fruit finally when Baba made her son mobile. His physical handicap was cleared.
Though Sir Abburi Balakrishna Rao has heard about the wonder filled miracles of Sri Sathya Saibaba, he narrates with awe and devotion of the first miracle about the boy's cure that he happened to witness right in front of his eyes. It only enriched his faith in the Godhead.
