The Mahanirvana Day Of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi
It is a known fact that the Maharshi had attained Nirvana in the real sense, even while He was in His body. Like a clear pool without the least ripple, He abided in the self constantly without even swerving a little.
Though having taken up a form, the Maharshi was a living expression of the unmanifested truth. His presence simply swallowed the minds of people thereby revealing His true nature. This is aptly a testimony to His formlessness even while have adorned a form. However the 14th of April, we call it His Mahanirvana day as it was when (in 1950) He discarded His manifested form, only to remain as the unmanifested reality. His continued presence and guidance is the very proof of His reality beyond time, space and form.
Ramana did not localise Himself with the limited form, even while He assumed a body. The truth of His real nature revealed itself most naturally, when people in His presence, involuntarily experienced the very state of their Master, beyond the zone of the mind. Time ceases to exist beyond the mind. The mind ceases to exist when it detaches itself from the body. So where is the question of Bhagavan being the body? Ramana is clearly the timeless being. The Mahanirvana of Ramana, can hence be rightly described as the manifest becoming the unmanifest like the unmanifest taking up a form to guide multitudes on December 30th, 1879 (The birth date of Ramana)
Ramana thus is the unceasing reality beyond time, space and form. Let us surrender to Him to abide unswervingly in the self, the eternal truth.
