Now let us see in this Chapter how devotees were received and treated by Baba.
Sai Ram. Let us now proceed with the exploration of the Spiritual Gems from Chapter 12 of Sai Satcharitra. It is not that we have really exhausted Sai's Spiritual Treasury in the earlier chapters. As we keep on reading Satcharitra and keep meditating on Sai's teachings, He keeps giving more and more insights as needed by the devotee. Sai Ram.
Saints' Mission
We have seen before, that the purpose or object of a Divine Incarnation is to protect the good and destroy the wicked. But the mission of the Saints is quite different. To them the good and the wicked are the same. First they feel for the evildoers and set them on the right path.
Here is a beautiful insight. God in the un-manifest form is really compassionate to one and all, the good and the bad. But since the society is getting adversely affected, He takes the role of Siva and cleans up the society by absorbing the evil into Him. He/She takes an incarnation as a Rama, Krishna, Durga etc., so that the good can lead a virtuous life. Saints also set the evildoers on the right path by calling them to themselves at the right time and by destroying their evil thoughts by their power. Sai Ram.
They are like the Agasti (Sage Agastya) to destroy the Bhava-sagar (the ocean of wordly existence) or like the Sun to the darkness of ignorance. The Lord (God) dwells in the Saints. In fact they are not different from Him. Our Sai is one of these, who incarnated for the welfare of the devotees. Supreme in knowledge and surrounded with divine lustre, He loved all beings equally. He was unattached. Foes and friends, kings and paupers, were the same to Him.
