Hartalika Teej 2023: What To Do If You Break Hartalika Teej Fast By Mistake, Know Remedies
Hartalika Teej is a special festival followed by married women for good fortune, marital bliss, and progeny. It is on this day, Lord Shiva is worshipped along with his consort Goddess Gauri.
This day is observed during Shukla Paksha Tritiya Bhadraada month. It is specially celebrated in the northern states and a strict waterless fast is also observed, which is one of the main rituals of this day and it is broken the next day after sunrise.

So, what will happen if the fast gets broken by mistake? Let us know the remedies for that. Read on!
1. Ask For Forgiveness From God
If the fast is broken, one should seek forgiveness while worshiping the God for whom the fast is kept. On the day of Hartalika Teej, Mother Parvati, Mahadev Shiva, and Lord Ganesha are worshipped, hence in case of breaking the fast, remember these deities and ask for forgiveness.
2. Cleanse Yourself With Panchamrit
For Vrat Dosha, on the day of fasting, idols of Gods and Goddesses should be made and first of all, they should be bathed with Panchamrit by mixing milk, curd, honey, and sugar. Along with this, worship the idol with sixteen puja materials like scent, akshat, flowers, fruits, etc.
3. Engage In Charitable Works
Breaking the Nirjala fast on such an important festival is not considered good. Therefore, to compensate for the fasting defect, do virtuous deeds like charity. Consult a Pandit and determine the items for donation.
4. Chant Mantras Dedicated To Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri
To get rid of fasting defects, chant mantras related to the gods and goddesses worshiped during Teej.
