Hanuman, being the ultimate force against injustice and protector of dharma, is believed to be born from Shiva's energy to assist Lord Vishnu in his Rama avatar.

Mythological Origin: The Birth Of Hanuman

According to the Shiva Purana and Anjaneya Charitam, the story begins in the cosmic realms when the gods were planning the birth of Lord Rama (Vishnu's avatar) to end the tyranny of Ravana.

At the same time, Shiva wished to witness and serve Vishnu's avatar as Rama. Upon Lord Vishnu's request, Shiva agreed to take an avatar to aid Rama. This led to the birth of Hanuman.

The Vanar King Kesari and his wife Anjana were devoted tapasvis (sages). Anjana prayed to Shiva for a divine child. Pleased with her devotion, Shiva sent a portion of his Rudra energy through Vayu Dev (the Wind God). Thus, Hanuman was born to Anjana through divine blessings, making him the son of Vayu and the Rudra avatar of Shiva. Hence, he is often referred to as "Vayuputra Hanuman" and "Rudraanshaj" (a part of Rudra).
