Eid-al Adha/Bakrid-Goat Sales Decline
Animal sacrifice is the important aspect of Eid-al-Adha/Bakrid commemorating the incident of Ibrahim attempting to sacrifice his son, conforming to the order of God. It is said that God substituted a ram for the child.

Goat sales, however, have fallen, in Srinagar, owing to the unrest in Kashmir when compared to last year's sales.
In 2009, goats were sold at Rs.130 to 140 per kilogram and in 2010 the price has declined to Rs.100 to 110 per Kg in 2010, say traders.
"This year the sale is not good because people don''t have money to buy goats. People say that because of the curfew they could not go for work. So, we are facing a lot of problems as our sale has been affected," said Latif Ahmad, a trader.
"People say that this year they will celebrate Eid in a simple manner because of the unrest that has prevailed in the valley in the past five-six months. So, the price of goats have declined this year," said Ghulam Mohammad, another trader.
Hence Eid-al-Adha/Bakrid to be celebrated in a more simple manner this year, with the decline in goat sales, in Srinagar.
