Chanakya Niti: When Is It Better To Stay In A Jungle Than Staying At Home

In Chanakya niti, every possible theme has been dealt with. Chanakya does not have one single message to offer to the world. For each and every aspect of life, he has a message which is why he is called Acharya, the teacher. Chandragupta was totally trained by Chanakya to grow up to be the colossal figure that was to be the dauntless Chandragupta Maurya, who ruled almost to perfection, the great Maurya empire.
Not only he has shed light on the general concepts of life such as enmity, hatred, love, and so on, he has also shared his insights on the intricate aspect of life, like empire, and governance etc. It is to be used as a ready reckoner by anyone who is just interested in bettering his prospects.
When Mother Is Not Alive
Chanakya always insisted that the man's relationship with mother and wife is the most delicate relationship of all, and needs to be managed with utmost care. Only the man with compassion and generosity can win this situation and dilemma. Despite this, there can be some situations wherein people find the jungles and forest terrains a better place to live than their own homes. So under what situation, is a man compelled to leave home to a forest or abscond to a peaceful place instead of staying home?
When The Wife Is Harsh Tongued
Firstly, a man is really in dire straits whose mother is dead, and the wife is sharp tongued. It is like living in a wild jungle. So Chanakya says it is not surprising if he absconds to a forest to live there in peace. Encountering a wily wife, on a daily basis, who has no mother in law to control her tongue is the last situation to be in for a sane man. Hence he must live in the forests.
Importance Of Having A Mother
Having no mother is the most unfortunate event that a man can ever go through as it is the mother who brings up a man at every stage to be the best version of himself that he can be. It is the mother who teaches values to her children and helps them choose the right path whenever faced with a dilemma. House of a motherless man is like a deserted old temple without no god in it. So it is better to go to a forest to make a living as it is hell not to have anyone take care of you. The only substitute to this would be to rest in the lap of mother nature.
When A Man Marries A Sweet Natured Woman
Actually the mothers in law are comparatively of aggressive temper when compared to the docile natured daughter in law. This is a normal situation in most households. But if there is no mother in the house and the man marries a sweet natured girl, she would work on all aspects of home to bring in cheer and light. In case, there is no mother in the house, and the wife is a trouble maker at every step, and her intentions are far away from preserving the peace of the house, it is better to choose a forest to stay in.
A home is sweet home as long there is some sweetness in it, to look out for. If the peace and love is absent in the martial relationship, it is best to choose a place to live where you find mental peace and happiness. It need not be a jungle alone. A house is a home only when the members are mutually empathetic, adjustable and accommodating.
