Toy Plane Offerings To Fly Abroad.

The most popular belief associated with this Gurudwara is the offering of toy planes with prayers which fulfills the wishes of those who cherish the dream of earning abroad. In the Doaba region where many people dream of going abroad, a large number of people nurture an unshakable faith in the practice.
A much esteemed holy shrine in Doaba region by thousands of individuals also comprises of devotees who are intent on going abroad but unable to procure a visa. People offer the toy planes that are sold outside the Gurudwara with the inscription of the airline of the country that they wish to go. The planes are offered to Guru Granth Sahib.
With the word spreading like wildfire of the practice that started a few months back, there are about 40 to 50 planes offered particularly on Sundays. Punjabi youths from hearsay through friends of their wishes being fulfilled, flock to the shrine for the materialization of their dream. The task is become quite difficult for the authorities of the Gurudwara to store them.
According to a devotee, "I was trying to go to abroad for a long time. I heard a lot about this Gurudwara, that if 'Akhand Path' or prayer is organised here, all your wishes are fulfilled. I have come here to offer my devotion. I am thankful to this place, as my wish of going abroad has been fulfilled," said another devotee.
Another devotee said : "I went to Germany two years back. I decided to offer a toy plane at the Gurudwara when I come back from there, as my wish of going abroad was fulfilled,"

"Whenever somebody's wish of going abroad is fulfilled, they come here at the Gurudwara to offer a plane. Punjabis from all parts of the world - England, America, Canada and many other countries come here," are the words of yet another young devotee.
" Our family has organized 'Akhand Path' or prayer at the Gurudwara. I had a wish of going abroad. I came to know that people come here to offer a plane if their wish of going abroad is fulfilled. So, I have also come here with a wish and if gets fulfilled, I will also come here to offer a plane," said another devotee.
Thus the devotee youths who want their dreams of going abroad being fulfilled take refugee in the Sant Baba Nihal Singh Shaheedan Gurudwara.AGENCIES
