Identifying The Truth

Once a sage was lying on the roadside deeply immersed in Samadhi. A thief who passed by saw him and thought him to be a thief who is pretending to sleep on the roadside in order to evade the police. On the very thought of the police, he himself being a thief fled the place .
A drunkard passed by and spotted the Sadhu immersed in deep samadhi. He thought him to be a drunkard fallen on the road in deep intoxication. He felt that he was better of than the fallen man as he was still steady even after having filled his belly with alcohol.
The third passer by was a Sadhu who immediately identified the man on the road to be a saint steeped in Samadhi. He at once sat by his side and began to stroke his legs in a gentle massage.
Thus truth exposes itself to a person leading a life in truth.
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa further states that spiritual values cannot be guaged by secular standards.
