The Strange Monkey Of A Hanuman Temple

On the mission of broadening the highway, the local authorities were in the pursuit of bringing down the temple, while the money stationed itself at the entrance of the temple, preventing the authorities from going any where near its premises. It is said that the temple was built twenty years ago and a dead monkey lay buried beneath 's idol.
When the local authorities were trying to demolish the temple to widen the highway, the monkey stationed itself at the entrance of the temple and prevented any official from venturing near the temple premises.
In the words of a local resident, Krishnappa : "This monkey is alone fighting to save the temple. The monkey tried to stop the official from demolishing the temple initially by pleading to him, but when the official ignored and continued demolition, the monkey attacked him".
The natives revealed that the monkey normally does not cause any harm to anybody but surprisingly put up a hostile front towards the officials who came to carry out the task of demolishing the shrine. Sunder Shastry, the temple priest said : "This monkey has not hurt any one till now. Except for attacking the people who came to demolish the temple".
Now the 'monkey saviour' is being worshipped as the incarnation of by people. Monkeys are generally sheltered and fed by the devotees and temple authorities. However this issue in Kolar has turned out to be queer, resulting in the hostility of a monkey and the officials. As the monkey is adamant in its pursuit so are the officials .AGENCIES
