Does Infertility Lead To Divorce?

If a married person is suffering from infertility, does the marriage fail? No, say researchers. A new study claims that infertility isn't among the causes for divorce and it doesn't necessarily raise the risk of separation.
Most of the earlier studies have stated that infertility may cause stress, anxiety, frequent quarrels and finally divorce.
But this new study, conducted on couples of this generation totally changes the perspective. Here are some facts.

Some Couples Have Hope
Firstly, most of the couples who were interviewed as a part of the study said that new treatment methods have given them hope. They also said that even if all treatments fail, they were willing to go for adoption.

How Education Changed Things
A few decades ago, women who failed to conceive underwent more stress. Also, men who failed to impregnate women felt terrible about their lives. But not anymore, says this study.
The reason could be education and rising awareness levels among women. Toady's women no longer buy the idea that life is all about raising kids.

Living A Beautiful Life Matters More....
Today's couples admitted that there are many other things to make their lives feel worthy. Career, goals, adventures and foreign travel are some of the activities that can help childless couples enjoy life to the fullest.

A Recent Study
More than 45000 childless couples were interviewed and not even 1% of them were ready for a divorce only due to partner's infertility. This study may assure other couples who are still under the illusion that relationships fail if there are no children.

Social Issues
What about the social awkwardness that childless couples face? Well, most of the couples who participated in the study were from urban areas of developed countries. Most of them were from educated families.
Maybe, that is the reason why they never faced pressure from others around them. But in rural areas, childless couples may still face some level of pressure from their friends and relatives.

Changing Times
Researchers say that things will soon change, fertility methods may improve in the future and also childless couples may find new ways of finding meaning to their lives.
So, they concluded that incompatibility and infidelity are the main reason for divorce and infertility is no longer seen as the main reason for separation in today's world.
