Most of the Indians are still stuck up in the time when men were supposed to earn more than women. Well, things have changed.
When your wife earns more than you, you don't need to feel embarrassed and you don't need to feel inferior.
Your married life depends more on the understanding and love that you have with your spouse more than anything else. If she is okay with you in all aspects then salaries are not really an issue.
So, if wife earns more than husband, there is nobody who is going to look down upon them any more.
Now, here are some ways to look at this issue in a better perspective.
Gender Roles Changed
Many things change with the changing times. Today, some roles are not specific to a particular gender. So, if your wife doesn't have a problem with your low income, you too shouldn't have one. Don't identify your manliness with higher income.
Money Is Not The Only Aspect
Realise that money is not the only aspect that defines your relationship. Money is just one part of the whole thing.
Compensate Things
If required, try to co-operate with your wife by sharing her household tasks if that really helps her.
See The Big Picture
If you take a look at the big picture, you will understand that the goal of any married relationship is to live happily with the partner and children and fulfilling your responsibilities well. If you can do so, you don't need to be worried about your lesser salary.
Understand Money
Money is a necessity. Without money, life can come to a standstill. Yes, money surely defines your status in the society and it also governs certain human relationships. But if your wife isn't money minded then you don't need to worry about this money driven world.
Don't Worry About Neighbours
If wife is earning more than husband, people around may perceive you as weak but never mind. Their opinions won't kill you. All that matters is that you are happy with your wife.
